I picked up a cert for a free banish 22k this last weekend at a match. Anyone have experience with it? Will be used with a 10/22 and a mark4 pistol. Read some mixed reviews, trying to decide if it’s worth the stamp.

Edited to add: I don’t mind only using subs if that’s what it takes for this to be quiet.

All it does is take the pop out. I have an ocl 22 and it is leagues better. I don’t think it’s worth the tax stamp

Yeah, I'd hang on to that cert until stamps are no longer needed. Or it's about to expire.

Agree. I fell for the free 22k suppressor (granted V1). its tiny, maybe 4" long. Worked with subs (CCI Quiet) on my bolt rifle, but made nominal difference with standard velocity stuff.

Most of them make only a nominal difference with standard velocity stuff. Rimfire silencers can easily muffle the blast from a 22 but if the bullet is supersonic you’re going to get that crack. It dosent matter if you are using that banish 22k or a high end silencer like my dead air mask 22.

I learned that the day I got my first rimfire can setup (banish 22, tikka t1x) I was super excited to get the gun, I got home, threw the silencer on it and went out to my porch, I was surprised when it wasn’t quiet.

Yes, I was basically in the “is this thing even on?” camp after my first few shots with a Banish 22 on my CZ 457. Sitting behind it, I could not tell the difference with it on or off. People 50 yards away were quite impressed. With subs, the difference is immediately noticeable.

I would not waste a tax stamp on it. I would wait for a free tax stamp sale.

The regular banish 22 is pretty good. I have one on a cheap Ruger American mini ranch and it’s a good little yard rifle. I have a tacsol 10/22 clone thing with my dead air mask on it, I need to shoot faster bullets out of it and since it opens to eject shells it’s not as quiet but still pretty quiet.

I use cci sub sonics in the tacsol and cci “quiet” in the bolt gun.
