I’ll probably get flamed for posting this, but I like the adjustability of the Banish 30 V2. Being able to go from a 6” to 8” can based off preferences is not a bad thing. Specs on the can have gotten shorter and lighter since the original.

Flame away, but the Banish 30 V2 doesn’t look all that bad.

I’ve been shopping it as well. Do you have any experience shooting Banish suppressors? They do not seem to get a lot of love here. Looking for first suppressor for range/hunting and multiple rifles.

If you look at how Banish .30 caliber suppressors test at the TBAC Summit, they are quite solid, middle of the road suppressors. For a muzzle forward suppressor, I think they are outclassed by the Reaper.

I like the Banish 22 and am very happy with the two I own.

Take apart centerfire suppressors just add moving parts where they aren’t needed.

I don’t have a banish but do have a take apart centerfire suppressor, I will never buy one again.

Are you referring to any suppressor that can be disassembled for cleaning, or specifically ones that can be run at 2 different lengths? I thought being able to take them down for cleaning was a good thing, 2 lengths seemed cool for switching from range practice to hunting. Not worth it?

For cleaning. It’s just not needed with modern titanium suppressors.

I loath having to clean my griffin can. My titanium sealed cans I just put an ear plug in and fill them with clr

I have one and it does exactly what it is supposed to do. I've put a ton of rounds through it and have had it apart twice for cleaning. It came apart easily and cleaning was not a big deal. Hell, I spend hours cleaning/disassembling all of my rifles so cleaning a couple of cans every so often doesn't bother me.

The Reaper probably outclasses it “some” in the shorter configuration, but the appeal to me with the Banish V2 is the modularity. I would run it full length on my 300 Blackout with subs and possibly my 6 ARC.

A friend bought one recently and we shot it side by side with my harvester evo and my AB A10. 22” 243 win 100 PowerPoint and 16” 6.5 cm 140 S&B fmj. Suppression at the gun and 5 feet behind the shooter was pretty damn similar between the 3. And that was with the banish in 8” configuration. The banish might have been slightly quieter but not quiet enough to justify the price over the A10. Not scientific at all but both of us agreed it was pretty difficult to tell a major difference.

My son shoots a .300 Win Mag and the Banish does a good job of mitigating the sound. Especially considering how damn loud that gun is with a muzzle break. It's deafening literally without a can and/or hearing protection.

Here’s the basic deal: At the TBAC Summit in August 2025, the 15 ounce, 8.38” long BANISH 30 Gold V2 measured 127.52 SE dbA. That’s pretty good.

But it’s 4 ounces and an inch longer than the Dead Air Nomad Ti XC (11 ounces, 7.29”) which measured 126.71 at the TBAC Summit in August 2024.

And the Reaper is 8.8 ounces, 6” long, and measures 127 dbA (according to Unknown - it hasn’t been to the TBAC Summit yet).

And that’s just picking two off the list. You could also get an AB Raptor 8 with 3” reflex that is lighter and shorter and quieter.

If you want to get a Banish, go for it. Just understand that even in its heaviest, longest configuration there are alternatives that measure better. If you like the option to break it down and make it shorter (and louder), you could have that option permanently, while being quieter.

I have the Banish 30 and like everyone else says it's not a "bad can" its just there are other cans availible for less money that are better.

I shot it in the 7in configuration yesterday on a 24in 6.5PRC and then swapped for my OCL Hydrogen S 6.5 and difference was very noticeable. The banish makes you think you still need ear pro and the Hydrogen is very pleasant.

My dad bought one. Ir operated fine. Similar to his varminter 3.0. He had trouble getting it apart to clean and sent it back twice for them to fix it. Not sure what (if anything) was wrong with it.

When I was researching cans, I read about that happening sometimes. Before I even shot mine, I took it apart and applied some anti -seize to the threads. No issues whatsoever.
