I am trying to load my ballistics into my leica geovid hdb binoculars and noticed that their trajectory chart is not matching my Kenton custom turret. We used Ballistics AE app to generate profile for turret and this profile is very close to the Berger ballistic generated chart. The leica chart and hornady charts are almost identical. With all of the same parameters entered the Leica and Hornady profile is almost 15 inches different than my custom turret at 500 yds! How is that even possible? Also, which Leica site are y’all using to create profile to download to as card. I have the older geo vids where you can’t use the app interface with Bluetooth. I must download onto card. TIA. Very frustrated!

It’s frustrating for sure.

Ballistic calculators are not that different at the ranges typical for a custom turret. In other words, 15 inches is a lot anywhere out to 600ish. I have never seen two calculators off once I get them tuned up by truing out velocity.

Without more info from you, it’s also quite a bit of guessing on our part.

What range is 15” off?
Is it high or low?

I can’t say for sure, but you have a user error in there somewhere. It is very likely because you have different inputs such as velocity, temp, air pressure, or bc.

It’s not easy to get everything plugged into a calculator unless you are super familiar with it. I good up set up sometimes. If there is error, I always assume it is me or the way I set up the gun.

So I’ve entered the same info into 4 different apps. At the 500 yd distance, the Leica and Hornady app is -54 inches. The Ballistic AE and Berger apps are saying -40 inches. These results are with the same parameters plugged into all 4 apps. A 15 inch difference is huge at 500 yds.

I’ve never seen such a difference. Are you possibly using G1 BC on one app and G7 on another? I’m not sure if those numbers would even line up with what you’re getting. Just a thought

Look at the 200 yard velocity figures....something is entered incorrectly in the Leica app. Your 7 mag isn’t losing steam that quickly.....

@huntnful nailed it, I think. I just ran your numbers in the Berger calculator and that velocity difference is repeatable by toggling the G1 and G7 BC.

in the Leica app there is no way to signify g1 or g7 bc. I input .316 into bc space for all 4 apps and Hornady and Leica have relatively same numbers. Berger and Ballistic AE app have relatively same numbers. All have .316 BC entered. I wonder if the Leica and Hornady apps are registering .316 as G1. But I’m pretty sure Hornady is registering as g7.

Try inputting the G1 BC of the 168 Berger in your Leica app
