Curious how long before the season opener you typically start you bait sites?

Alaska you can put bait down April 15. Most
Our seasons are always open though.
Typically if I put bait down in may. In 2 weeks it’s active.

Never baited when lived up there. We always hunted the green in May and the berries in the fall in Cordova. I found a few bait sites there. No bait allowed on Kodiak where we lived.
