18” 300WSM Berger

Thank you. Just realized I should have said 215m primer not the bullet. That load above is with 168gr VLD.
haha...I was thinking...damn, an 18" pushing 215's upper 2800's and he's expecting more?

I have a 24" 300wsm that I run 155 scenars in with n550...it's a smoke show (as it should)...3260 and it shoots extremely well.

RL17 and RL16 were faster than H4350 with 180 Accubonds in my 18" 300wsm.

I ended up running 150gr TTSX @3060 fps out of my short 17" barrel, using H4350. Could have gone a bit faster, but it shot well, so i didn't mess with it as it was the load for one if my longer barreled rifles and just happened to shoot really well in this one as well.

Maybe found the sweet spot today!

200.20x Berger with 66gr of N560 in norma brass with 215’s. Avg 2725fps. 66.5 had slight bolt lift and 67 was heavy just shy of 2800fps.

Found some interesting info this weekend. I took the load above and only swapped from Norma to ADG brass 2x firings. At 66.0 of N560 my speed was 2658 3 shot avg. I was not expecting a ~75fps drop, honestly expected higher pressure with the ADG brass. Going to try and get water capacity on norma and ADG on fired cases this week.

Also tried the 185 Jugg with N560. Found a really nice node around 2850fps.

Going to figure out the capacity thing on the 200.20x and then see which one agg’s better than the 185 Jugg at distance.

Yessir that surprised me too. Actually took it to low ~2930 with primer just starting to show a little psi.

Looking for feedback terminal/reloading on Berger options for my current build.

168 HVLD, 168 Hybrid, 180 EH, 185 Jugg’s

Build is 18” 300wsm 10 twist short action TL3. Will run the non binder AICS mags and keep COAL under 3.0.

Thanks ahead of time!
Is this for hunting? If so, reconsider— shot two deer and an elk last year with 245 elite hunters out of an 300 PRC and couldn’t have been more disappointed with their performance. IMO I would try the 178 or 200 ELDX. My buddy is shooting 212s out of his wsm and getting over 2900, not sure of his OAL

Elaborate on why you were so disappointed with the performance of the elite hunters? I have had nothing but great results with those bullets.

Thanks for the note and feedback. I have had many kills with Berger and ELD’s. Both kill great but Berger is my preferred route for consistent accuracy. Living in Texas allows year round testing on exotics.
