I am looking into finally getting a good bit of camo and a decent layering system. I have looked into Sitka and Kuiu so far. I am amazed at how much some of their stuff costs. When I was looking around I found Badlands has a lot of products that are fairly cheap and they also do first responder discounts as I am Fire/Ems which is a bonus. I looked around for reviews on their products but I couldn't find to much information other than on single items in the forums. So I am here asking if anyone has used a lot of their gear and what their thoughts/opinions are on them. I hunt from Early archery in September into Late archery in November here in Idaho and would like to have a good bit of gear so I can be comfortable from the beginning of season to end of season.

Thanks in advance!

I have had several diff articles from Badlands, all seems to be made well, the fit was just not right for me, 32X32 never seemed to be 32 in either measurement. Sitka also has first responder discounts, I believe.

Used to use some of their stuff, man the poly stuff was comfy, stunk to high heavens after about a day. Other stuff was fine, ended up getting rid of most of it and have a mix of the “bigger” hunting brands. If it fits well and you like it, go with it

Most of my hunting clothes, as well as my packs and bino harness is all Badlands. I’ve been very happy with most of it, but I haven’t paid full price for hardly any of it. If you are patient, most anything you want will go on sale for a ridiculous price at some point. I don’t know if I would be as happy with it paying full price.
One more caveat- I have never had any of the big names to compare it with. I spent most of 30 years hunting in Wranglers and Carhartt, and Badlands beats the socks off of that!🤣

Their 2200 pack didn't fit me right. Could never get it to ride well. Sent it down the road.

That's all I got.
Yeah, I had a ton of trouble with their Vario pack frame. Could NOT get the belt to stop slipping or just flat out coming unbuckled under load. Warranty the frame, get a brand new frame with redesigned buckles and they did the exact same thing. Spent weeks calling and emailing their CS and got exactly ZERO response.

Sold pack, frame, bino harness, day pack and everything else with their logo on it. Customer service is important.

You get what you pay for when it comes to this stuff. If you're only going to use it a handful of times a year, it'll be ok but if you're going to use & abuse it I'd look elsewhere. 3 of my hunting partners went the cheap route and bought everything badlands and after a coupled years of hard use they have all since changed to sitka/kuiu/firslite. This was about 5/6 years ago so maybe its changed but doubtful. You can get 25% of everything first lite if your fire/ems/leo by applying to their pro program. I think first lite has gone to $hit to since meateater purchased it. Sitka also has a pro program if your fulltime fire/EMS.
