So for all my Alaskan hunting adventures, small game has pretty much eluded me...until yesterday. Luke and I spotted some spruce grouse on our way home from the cabin. One shot with the Rossi 20 gauge and it was all over!

Luke got a couple as well....

Brought them home and cooked up our favorite appetizers to share with friends. Marinated the breasts in teriyaki, then wrapped in bacon with jalapeño and pineapple and grilled.

I know, I know...the original plan was to use a half a piece of bacon for each one, but they wouldn't hold together. Sometimes you just have to splurge and go for the bacon.

Don't be surprised if I don't post much in the cooking forum for the rest of this week....I will be eating nothing but salad :D
