I didn't want to hijack the other thread, so figured I should start my own.
I'm looking to get my first tripod for hunting (glassing and shooting). I'm looking at the Spartan Ascent w/ Davros Pro Gen 2, the RRS Ascend and the RRS TFCT 14L. They all seem to be fairly close in height and weight.
Being from Canada the Spartan seems to be the easier and cheaper tripod to purchase. I'm not against paying a premium as long as it means I only have to do it once. Will the Davros gen 2 head move/slip when shooting from it?
I don't expect to use a rifle over 10lbs with the tripod (my hunting rifle is an 8lbs 6.5 creedmoor). I'm ~5'11, I think each of the tripods will be high enough to shoot from various positions - but I'm not sure.
Does anyone have experience with these 3 tripods?
