There are lots of good choices out there. I have 2 PUR Hikers that are at least 10-15 years old.

They are a Katadyne product now, but I don't know what they call it...I just look at the picture on the Kat box for new filters.

I hunt eastern Oregon also. For me the sawyer mini is hard to beat
