What's everybody bring, if anything, for bow repairs in the field where you do not have means to hike out and back in time to salvage hunt? Thinking of bring some older strings and cables and bowmaster press in the unlikely event that a hunt ending mishap could occur.

Thoughts?

Extra peep, set of string and cables, d-loop, serving string to tie in peep, Allen wrenches, and bowmaster press

I won't carry the weight of a Bowmaster on a backpack hunt. I do carry allen wrenchs for every size on the bow (not a whole set), dental floss, leatherman tool and a bit of SnoSeal (works for bowstring wax and boot touch up). Doubt I could get a string or cable changed in the field with the amount of preload on a Prime Rival. I'd try, but would head for the truck if I had too.

This bit me once in 2014 when I got my bowstring into the rocks when I slipped in some talus. Had to pack out, and a few weeks later the Mathews limb started to delaminate where it was dented by a rock as well. A spare bow is a good thing, but I won't backpack it...just take reasonable care. Good luck!

Press and cables stay at the truck with a backup bow. But - you could probably build an emergency press out of paracord and two ultralight pulleys if you knew what you're doing, and dependent on limb design. I sort of have it on a list of things to try out in my basement when I get a spare minute.

In the field: D-loop material, serving thread, allen wrenches in appropriate sizes. Already carry chapstick, superglue, duct tape if I need any of that.
