Back surgery

I've got chronic back problems. I have had one surgery that didn't help much. My back dr says I am too old to do the kind of surgery necessary to HELP...not totally fix. I've tried ablation , 3 nerves per side, that helped for 3 months or so. What I do know is don't wait to you are too old (I'm 84).

I was having serious L4-L5 problems that created all kinds of back/leg and feet problems. Tried massage, chiropractic and ibuprofen to no avail. I found a couple products that are made local to me that address the inflammation issues. Now, no need for massage, chiropractic and ibuprofen. Life is much better. I was able to train for and do a Colorado bighorn sheep hunt this year that would not have happened before. All natural products and not CBD.

Some of these back issues are part of aging. Some have identifiable causes. For those who know how it happened what did you do? Major trauma, injury/fall, axial loading, repetitive overuse, job inflicted?

Very interested in your responses. I don't have back issues, yet, and I would like to keep it that way!

For sure...What do you use?

Tqred.com
A2-immune.com

I take 2 of the Tqred gel caps first thing in the morning with a glass of water. Wait a half hour and have a serving of a2 immune. I do another Tqred late afternoon on an empty stomach.

Has worked well for me. YMMV.

I’m 6 months out from L3/4 ALIF spine fusion. So glad I did it. Unfortunately I wasn’t a candidate for a disc replacement bc the disc degeneration was so bad it gave me scoliosis and the replacement would only work if your back was straight. The recovery was long bad at all but I’m 42 and workout regularly. Was in the hospital for about 28 hours and then walked out. You just have to take it easy for a few months. I lived in pain for a solid 10 years before i was so desperate I actually went through with the surgery. Wish I would have done it sooner. I can barely tell I’ve lost any flexibility. I sleep better. I can sit in a car for a long ride. I can weed eat. I can actually play golf again. Good luck to you.

34 Y/O. I've had 5 back surgeries, ranging from discectomies, laminectomies, and a fusion. All I can say is choose your suck carefully. If your quality of life is terrible, flip the coin. If its manageable now, do as much core/leg/back strengthening you can handle. Unfortunately, youre in for a lifelong rodeo. I'm more than happy to share any specific info you'd be seeking from my personal journey.

I’ve dealt with lower back pain since my mid-20s. I herniated a disc between C6 & 7 in my mid-30s and a few months later did the same to the L5-S1 disc. I ultimately had to have surgery on my neck and it took several years to regain the strength in my left arm because I waited too long. I was able to manage my way through the lower back disc rapture through a ton of PT and that protruding disc material eventually got absorbed. I continued the good habits (tons of stretching and core work) that helped the lower back heal and made it another 20 years without too much pain. Then about 2016 I started having left hip pain and instability. That eventually shifted to right hip pain, left leg instability and nerve pain down both legs with a right or left leg that’d drag behind depending on the day. I eventually gave in and had a laminectomy on L5-L3 in August of 2024. I immediately felt 80% better but it took another year for the nerve related symptoms to fully subside and I feel better now at 60 years old than I’ve felt since my 20s. I work out a ton and always have but I’ve got a lot of my athleticism and balance back that was lost that last 8 years. Hunting chukar like a much younger version of myself and I’m actually considering booking a sheep hunt.
