Has anyone purchased from B & H photo online before? They seem to have prices that are much lower than others, almost too low. I'm looking to purchase new binos and they have the lowest prices around. I just want to be sure they are a quality business before I give them mine.

I bought a tripod from them last year and had no issues. If you buy from them they'll start sending you a telephone book sized catalog every few months, just an FYI.

B&H is a very reputable company in the photography world. I've purchased from them before and wouldn't hesitate to do so again.

Have done and continue to do business with them. Stand up company.

That catalog is ridiculous. I told them to never send me one (over the phone) and they have not sent one for the last 3 years.

It sounds like they're a pretty good company, but I'd give Doug at Cameraland NY a chance to match their price as he will do whatever he can to help a hunter out with optics.

Definitely agree with handwerk, B&H are good, but CameralandNY supports Rokslide. And I'll bet they beat B&Hs price AND service. I just ordered a new rangefinder from them, as always-great guys to deal with and great price.

Never tried the Cameraland route, but with the sponsorship here, I'd try them. I have though used B&H and had the same thoughts and they initially struck me as one of those Dateline hidden camera stores where the Pakastani guy sells you fake Nikons. But like was said, they are a big name in photography circles and I've bought from them more than once and they are good to go. Even called there once and got someone that actually spoke English and was knowledgeable and nice to talk to.

Haha, thats kinda funny. Not laughing at you, but just the assumptions we all make over the internet. That couldn't be further from what B&H actually is like. They have a huge store in Manhattan that has been around since the 70's. When you buy something there it gets sent from the warehouse in back on an old-school conveyor belt system and is waiting for you in front when you check out. They really stand behind their products and there is no funny business going on... and as you said everyone is pretty knowledgeable and helpful.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I feel better now about potentially using B and H, I'll give CameraLand a look too.

I got a chuckle too. It's the only place I've ever been where Jews outnumbered whites/blacks/Asians etc... like 100 to 1 :).

Great operation and I've purchased most of my optics from them.

i majored in photography.. i bought so much from B&H. solid company.

i think i got my Leica Camera from them.

Haha so true. They are still closed on Saturdays (I dont even think they process orders online) to this day.

Have a lot of bh stuff including three monfroto pods, canon t3, and just ordered a fluid head from them this am with free expedited shipping. Was going to order from sands but they slipped me the shaft recently and have them deleted. Seems bh is adding to and broadening their inventory all time. Bought a pelican cooler of all things from them last year

everything we buy for our production company comes from them. They are great to deal with, other than they are on holiday about every other week

B&H also sells refurbs and used gear on their website, can be a good way to save some money.
