Awesome trail cam pictures?

LOL, they wear that licking branch out... View attachment 1013010
Interesting, I used to take a young WT buck every year when I was a youth. Since i've gotten back into hunting as an adult I have just been mostly BT and some MD, I probably know the least about WT. I was under the impression that was rut activity the rub/lick branch but seems to be an all year thing?

Of course that Buck is in velvet but looks liks good mass!

Wonder what did that.
Haven't a clue. First thoughts that come to mind are fight or predator, there was a big Lion running around there killing Deer the year before or 2 years before that pic. Could have been running and caught it on something cattle/farm barbed wire or snag. Lots of yotes and Black bears there.

Possibly could be from an arrow it is an archery only spot but have never ran into a hunter there or had one on cams there.

They use rut scrapes before and during the rut, community scrapes pretty much year 'round. If you can locate a community scrape it's basically what it says, a place where the deer leave their scent letting others know they were there. Ne bucks show up and mark as well. This spot was simply a small scrape put down in November 2024 that I made about 3' in diameter and added forehead gland scent to the limbs. By the time I rechecked in May it had blown up and now gets used almost daily, especially by the does groups.
