Seriously considering getting a 7x14 or so enclosed trailer and building it out to haul my Polaris and use it as a homemade camper once on sight.

Something that once the side by side is out, I would have a bed, storage cabinets, etc.

Anyone set up something like this?

Thanks!

I bought an enclosed trailer and turned it into my base camp. Insulated it and put in a heater and 2 fold up beds. Then a couple years later bought a side by side. I could only get the mid size ranger to fit into it. I have put two 4 wheelers into it. You will really want a 16 footer if you have 2 wheelers. Its the height that prevents most UTV's from going into a trailer. Make sure you have the height and width to park what you have before you buy one

Not sure if you're located anywhere near ice fishing country or not but there are plenty of good toy hauler fish houses that work great for this.

This is our setup. We were about to buy and build one of our own, but this gem popped up for sale so we bought it. 18 footer, 3 inches of insulation all the way around. Can fit 2 atvs easily, or a 60 in wide SxS depending on height plus an atv. Propane heater, and a couple batteries up front to run the lights. Has a generator hookup as well. Pretty slick setup compared to a wall tent.

@scott85 I clicked on your link for Colorado Trailers Inc and it pulled up their contact page. Were you suggesting a specific model of toy hauler, or simply to contact them and see what they have?
Thanks.

Whatever ever model fit your needs. They are badass. And you should be able to page down.

They do look nice but they come with a pretty hefty price tag. May/may not be worth it depending on your needs.

I started one last year a 8.5x20, its not as glamorous as having a toy hauler camper but it works well for us. I insulated it with blue board, it stays decent during the day cools down at night, my wife misses the heater for the mornings colder in the camper than outside in the morning. I put a little cabinet in the front and plan on adding another for storage this year, put a couple windows in it. Setup takes longer now than when we had our camper, we just use cots for sleeping 5 of us, 2 bunk bed cots and a single for sleeping but I'll be looking at building or buying a bunk i think for this year. 20210717_134105.jpgScreenshot_20220327-195947_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20220327-195953_Gallery.jpg

I have a 7x16 that I haul my Pioneer in. IMO , if you are hauling a sxs, I wouldn’t go shorter than 16 foot. Climbing out of it is kind of a chore. I ran e- track rails 2 and a half feet up from the floor. They make 2x4 pocket brackets and I use them on either side of the trailer and then use plywood across the 2x4’s to hold my mattress. With the bed being elevated, you can use the space for gear storage. It’s a pretty economical way to camp. There are a ton of YouTube tutorials on them.
