Athlon midas vs Cronus

looking at either the Athlon midas g2 uhd 10x42 or the Athlon Cronus g2 In 10x42. Is there a big difference ? Will be using out here in Montana for deer/antelope/elk while also going back to Michigan for hunting . Thanks for the help

I don't have exactly what you're asking about but similar. I have the Midas g1 8x42 and the Cronus 15x56. The Midas binos are pretty good (comparable to Vortex Vipers), but the Cronus is definitely a step above. Better color and clarity.

I'd go with the Cronus 10x42's.

I actually ended up buying both , got the Midas g2 for 245$ and the Cronus for 385$. So I’ll compare side by side and return one.

I was hugely impressed with the Midas binos I've seen. I currently own some Ares binos that I believe are similar glass and I love them. I haven't seen the Cronus model in person but I am an Athlon fan these days after several good experiences.

Looks like OP hadn't been active since 2022.

I own several different Athlon models from the Midas Binoculars 8x42 and 12x50 as well as the Cronus UHD Gen 2 and Cronus 10x50 Rangefinder Binoculars.

I didn't buy the 10x42 Midas because absolutely no way in hell it would be nearly as good as my $50 ScoopX UHD 10x42 from eBay which is clearer and way more pleasant to look through than my Cronus 10x42 UHD Gen 2.

The 8x42/Midas didn't impress me and the 12x50 is better at least almost as clear as the dirt cheap eBay ScoopX UHD.

So I don't need to retype everything a over again read my replies on this other thread.
