Yes, I wear mine in the stand. Started using it a couple of years ago and have had no issues. I practiced extensively shooting my bow with it on in the yard to make sure there are no contact issues. It's been surprisingly incident free.
Very general. I consider anything that you put your arms through to be a harness pack or no pack. I cant remember if we called the elastic gizmos we used prior to packed versions harnesses or straps. They were sort similar to the Rick Young but wider material. I have never used a Rick young but would try one if I was adverse to a pack style. Seems like they would work very well in a treestand. I don't carry much in my marsupial and very likely could get the stuff I carry up the tree in my chest or front pockets in my coats.For those who use no harness, do you even use binoculars in a treestand?
"Harness" is pretty general term. My Rick Young is definitely not a chest pack and is really just a much improved version of a para cord neck strap.
