Has anyone spent alot of time trying out Asio Gear? I'm fully tapped out with merino base layers and now I'm onto outer wear. Needing midweight gear mainly and looking at Asio

I used their bibs and late season jacket last season for whitetail hunting and plenty of hunts in the teens and lower and I was able to sit comfy all day and their stuff performed great that entire late season, very very durable and the quietest I’ve come across it’s on par with some of the Sitka primaloft stuff when it comes to quietness and warmth. Not sure about their mid weight stuff but not many company’s get late season gear right and Asio did so I’d put confidence in their mid weight outer layers especially in the durability department.

How did the outer material fare? I'm not a big fan of fleece exteriors because it will pick up every tiny bit of brush in the woods.

So it’s not like a traditional fleece feel it’s crazy durable and soft it reminds me of Sitka rain jackets like their goretex thunderhead, it’s softer to the touch but has a very durable feel to it.

I have the midweight stuff and i love it! Jacket is made for bowhunters. Pretty warm and quiet not bulky i definitely recommend it!

I have the mid season bibs and jacket. I also have the beanie and neck warmer. Solid stuff. It’s worked for me from 50 down into the low 30’s with layers. The inner lining is like a sherpa fleece type. The exterior is soft and pretty quiet. No issues with durability.

Agree with the above, got the mid season sherpa pants and jacket last year and it has performed very well for me. The only knock I have is the cargo pockets on the pants. They have no volume at all. Fine for a pair of gloves or phone but thats about it.

just got to look at their gear at the outdoor show in PA
i am going to get some of their line i really liked it

I'm not sold on the fleece and smell. Yeah, I know hunt the wind, I'm still somewhat trying to hide scent as much as possible. I'm still in the market for that perfect midlayer. I guess I'm about as close as I can be.

aclima wool net, merino 165 (heavier merino 400 if it's cold), tidewe heated vest, pendleton wool sweater, old Cabelas goretex/scent lok parka (I priced a couple on eb$%, those things are selling for more than I paid new 20 some odd years ago -- it isn't thick, more of a shell type, that thing has been with me a long time, light, sheds water enough, not a rain jacket of course, blocks the wind some) I did buy an ECWCS wind jacket that is nice.

I purchased their Sherpa bibs, jacket and beanie this year and am very happy with my purchase. I was able to use them from the 50's to below freezing with proper layering before switching to my cold weather gear. The sherpa lining is very warm and the outside brushed fleece is very quiet. As mentioned earlier, I don't care for the cargo pockets. The customer service was top notch in getting my sizing correct and for some returns. I will definitely be purchasing more and highly recommend.

Still using this set? Still positive feedback?

Yes and yes! Very durable and very warm. If you have a long hike in to your hunting spot I wouldn’t recommend wearing them in but they can be packed down I run mine on my lonewolf .5 seat fastened by some bungie cords and throw them on when I get to my tree base. All in all I haven’t ran anything as warm as Asio so far.

Good deal. The older I get, the colder I get. I would use them mainly for archery when it’s between 10-40 degrees. Are they too bulky to shoot a bow? Seems like they would not be since they seem to be tailored to archery hunters.

I completed my set with the late season jacket and bibs. Best cold weather geat I've purchased. Warm and still breathable.

The only issue I've had was with the Hybrid Softshell Hoodie that I ordered at the IA Deer Classic. The range finder pocket was not the same as all of the other ones. It's basically another cell phone pocket since it opens to the zipper side. Called them and they said it was a "design change". They offered to accept as a return, but since I waited several months for it, I kept it and made it work.

Not too bulky in my opinion the bibs are slightly baggy in the legs but the jacket fits very nice and the arms are tighter to reduce string slap on clothing.
