I'm interested in hearing how you are repairing the the rips in the shoulder of the shell jacket. Are you sewing in patches and seam taping over those? What material would the patches be?
Very cool work, I like the 1" webbing handle on those pullouts! Thank you for sharing.
For the shoulder I used some aesthetically pleasing NOSO patches on the exterior link below:
Collection: Shop Best Sellers | NoSo Patches
NoSo Patches are gear repair and flair patches for gear and garments. Shop customer favorites with best selling patches.

And I backed them on the interior with a basics NOSO rectangular patch. They are heat activated and super easy to apply. I elected to not seam seal these as it would look like hammered dog sh!t in my opinion and I don’t think it’s necessary. I may do some seam grip waterproofer on the inside patch to help with adhesion and to prevent wear from rubbing on the jacket wearer as it is in a high use area. Pics below:
I repaired the bottom synch cord channel and re-taped that seam. That seam will get seam grip waterproofer applied to it as well. Before and after pics below:
New velcro hook strap. Backed with 1000D cordura for aesthetics.
Seam tape and elastic anchor stitch on repaired cuff.
Repaired cuff.
Seam grip/waterproofer applied to new seam tape on the waist synch. New shockcord and toggles as well.
Pen hole on inner chest pocket patched on both sides with NOSO patch leftovers.
Other side of the Pocket hole repair.
Pulled and redid a big chunk of the seam tape on the hood as well. Everywhere that was rolled or showing signs of impending doom got a makeover.
This was a fun project for me to stretch my legs and gain new skills on. Shoutout to @Clarktar for trusting me with his baby and letting me experiment. Now to see how we it holds up to the beating he will continue to give it.
