Arrow Recomendation

I am looking for recommendations on a new arrow build. I am looking for a smaller diameter shaft (.204) and want to keep my total arrow weight close to 500-530 grains. I have been playing with set ups in archers advantage, but am wondering how accurate the spine calculations and predicted arrow speeds are. The arrow speeds that the program is giving me seem to be a little bit on the fast side (saying that a 586 grain arrow out of a 340 IBO bow will go about 285 fps). The shafts I am considering are Easton Axis match, Victory Rip TKO, Bloodsport Justice, and Black Eagle Rampage. Any insight would be appreciated!

Here’s my setup for my triax 69lb at 28.5”:

Easton Axis 300’s 10.7gpi

75grn insert, 100grn point, 5grn collar, 9grn x nock
2” blazer vanes
7.5 grains per pound
14.65% FOC

I could see you getting those speeds if you are at 70#'s

With my Defiant 34 last year, I was using 300 Easton Axis arrows with a 75g brass insert and 100g bh. With my curve this year I am using the same exact arrow with 200g bh. The arrow hits hards. I have had pass through on all my animals harvested with this arrow (4 in total so far). Not saying they are the best arrows ever produced but they have worked well for me.

Easton Axis 300 with 50 grains of brass, 125 grain head, lighted nock, cut at 26.5" was around 520 grains for me. Speeds are about 272 at 29" draw out of a bow shooting 335ish IBO.

If you're at 70lbs, 30" draw, 29" arrow, you will need a 250-260 spine unless you lower tip weight and shorten the arrow some.

I run Black eagle Deep impact 300s. They are 11 gpi. I think my total set up is around 505 grains. Pulling 70 lbs and a 28.5 draw out of my impulse 34 and i chrono'd just a hair under 275 fps. They hit hard and penetrate.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I just bought my new bow, and its pulling 75 pounds at a 30" draw. Ended up going with black eagle rampages with 75 grain easton inserts, gold tip ballistic collars, and 125 grain heads. Should hit pretty hard. I'll do some testing and see how they do.

I was going to say the rampages because with a ~29” arrow, a 125 grain head, and their 75 grain screw in brass insert behind their 51 grain half out insert you should be around 525-530 grains.

Thinking about adding the 30 or 50 grain inserts to my current arrows for some more momentum.

I have RIP tko 75 grains of brass 125 head, with blazers I’m right around 490 and with stealth 4 fletch I’m right under 510. I have the match grade as well andhave 50 of brass and 125 head and I’m at 515. Shot both the shafts a lot I like the tko because the front has a little more weight but both great shafts killed a few deer and coyotes with both and they are still perfect. I want to add footers to both this year

For predicting arrow speed I have found ArcheryCalc – Backcountry Bowhunting to be very accurate. I use the Easton arrow spine chart and when in doubt move up a spine (lower number) as its harder to overspine than underspine an arrow. I have had good success with easton axis arrows. Good luck!
