Yeah it doesnt seem to hold much. Great day pack Im sure. Or couple day trip.

They must be doing something right though, I would say currently 50% of the clients show up with exo, 20% SG and a mix of the rest.

Never heard anything bad about them. Just going off having to pack more of the clients shit than with some other brand of packs. Part of the job so it’s all good!

I have an older K2 3500, just packed out my Colorado moose a few weeks ago. I’ve packed out 4 elk, a bunch of mule deer and antelope, a bunch of whitetails, and a moose! I have carried tree stands, blinds, heavy camp gear for the family and kids and used it on many many backpacking trips.

Personally, I would not want a 7000ci pack. I realized a long time ago that the more space you have, the more weight you typically end up with.

I like Kifaru packs, but I just like the way the exo fit me a little better. Some day it might die, but it’s been bomb proof for me for years. Only thing I’ve ran into is busted buckles, which I just replaced with some sea to summits.

I’ve been around these forums for a long time. I remember Aaron posted a bunch on Bowsite back in the day, he was always offering advice to people. He was a regular dude, living in an apartment and didn’t have a lot, but he had a ton of passion for archery and hunting. It’s been pretty cool to see him rise to the top. I wish him all the best.

jk Aron's a good dude and always went out of his way to help others. wish him the best of luck.

I had to go to their website to confirm that this is actually a thing. Sure enough. I had to go look at the women's swimwear section for a reset. Much better.

I suspect Aron was pushed out probably by the other shareholders like Chad/bj

It’s no longer a boutique company. If bender leaves I think they will be screwed.

Ultimately we will know the tone of things if you see him ditch his kifaru pack in coming social media postings.

When I started guiding I would say over half the clients showed up with Kifaru packs. This year was the first year zero of the clients packs were Kifaru. Speaking to other guides it seems they noticed the same as I. I don’t know what Exo is doing but most the clients show up with those packs now. Which is unfortunate because I don’t know if it’s just the models I’ve seen but sure don’t seem as good as a kifaru. Hope to see Kifaru make a comeback.
Exo still cares about customer service.

I see Kifarucast is halting pro
Looks like kifarucast is done. Maybe they are just trimming things to just focus on the
product. Hopefully they find a way to keep it USA or sell it to someone committed to that like Origin or Marsupial.

And at the same time, Born Primitive Outdoor posted Aron is starting a podcast for them coming soon! And outdoor classes like he was doing already...?

not surprised. They'd be nuts not to give him a podcast. Aron was a prolific podcaster. I think he was over 500 episodes. That is a ton of work to hit those numbers as a single-host podcast (for the mostpart).

Surely there would be a non compete in the departure negotiations???
I sort of feel that would include consideration, and focus on design work, but I'm not sure. Did Aron design?

Podcasting Instagrammers gotta Podcast Instagram...

I vividly recall a Facebook post about sleep systems. I vividly remember commenting about using my 20F Kifaru down to about -20F, starting with dry socks, dry merino base layers, a Nanopuff, pants, and a hat.

Aron challenged me, which I thought was ridiculous, saying that I should strip to nothing. He then explained that he was right because, well, he had 60,000 Instagram followers. I blocked him.

I used his bag beyond its specs, I thought it was an endorsement, it was weird, but, "hike angry" big guy.

I still use that bag... And have been more impressed getting into it at 30F, wet, fully clothed, ditched hardshell, but with synthetic puffy stayed on, dry socks, and waking up dry.... Adding synthetic to a synthetic bag, wicks. Instagram or not.

Sorry for the loss of Kifaru-based outdoorsy infotainment y'all... Hopefully he doesn't lose his Insta audience...

I would like to "like" your post but I'm not sure if you have enough Instagram followers for me to recognize you as having a valid opinion.

I'm very important. Just ask me.
