Arizona late rifle bull elk hunt

how’d you guys do out there? I had the same tag this year. I tagged out opening morning, thankfully. It wasn’t too busy where I was opening morning but started getting that was later in the day. If we wouldn’t have killed opening morning I think it would have gotten tough. Looked like the elk kicked off the tops and down into the pines or onto the thick north slopes. I was only there through Sunday though.

Congrats! Did you get a good one? We saw a few decent ones before the season, but after opening day it was terrible. Glad you got it done early! You are correct, the Bulls went into vanish mode after opener.

I did. He ended up going mid 330’s so I’m very happy with him. From what I’ve heard and saw out there, if it’s not opening day or the next morning. It gets rough and the elk timber up.

Thank you, he really does. He’s pretty solid across the board except for his width. It was my first branch bull tag so I can’t complain one bit.

I had a pretty good hunt myself but not sure I’d do it again. The amount of competition sours the experience so much for me.

Yes the amount of pressure is absurd. There's no way I would ever do that hunt again. People told us it was busy, but nothing could have prepared me for how busy it actually was.

Thank you! We saw a pile of elk. Got there Wednesday night, scouted Thursday, saw a lot of elk including several bulls. He was for sure the biggest bull we had seen and we killed him first light opening day.
