I replied to a guy talking about people not understanding the system, and the two posts before mine were about when AZ was issuing refunds. I hoped my sarcasm was obvious enough but apparently not!
I figured it was but wasn't sure. Its not just AZ though, its amazing how many people dont know how it works in the state they apply

Very much agree. I've lived in both AZ and CO and met countless people in both states that have applied for their whole lives that didn't understand their home state. AZ guys that had no idea the different between first and second choices (or were applying backward for no apparent reason). Met an outfitter in CO that was convinced that since their clientele was mostly non-resident, that the state was giving out more tags to non-residents than residents.

I try to remind myself that most people are dedicated to other things and have more constraints on their time than people like us, but you'd think they'd would want to know the rules before they enter the lottery. Then again what percentage of people know the basic strategy for craps or blackjack before playing at a casino? Anecdotally I'd say a much smaller percentage than I would expect.

CC got hit. I swung for the fences in Arizona this year and out kicked my punt coverage. 1st and 2nd choice were almost 0% with 3 points

What was the amount you were charged?
$550 - Combination of youth only tags and bull tags. Cant make the math work any way you look at it. No "adult" cow tags, rechecked my application numbers. Also a non-resident antelope tag. Just weird. I've applied in Arizona for years and understand the system perfectly. Can't make sense of this one.

Sounds like you drew a non-resident antelope tag. The way the regs list the tag cost is strange because they list it including your application fee, which you already paid. If you're a non-resident then $565 - $15 = $550.

OMG, of all the tags I applied for that was by far the longest shot and toughest draw odds. 10 total tags in that unit. 1 for nonresident. Me. LOL. Only 4 points. My kids had chip shot odds with their points and youth tags….apparently not. Thx. I’ve never been so disappointed with a pronghorn tag🤣

I drew 5b bull rifle nov25/dec1 with 3 points. It was my first choice on my app. New unit to me so if anyone has any info to share please pm me. I'll be up there scouting as soon as they open the forest roads.

My son drew 4B either sex tag from 12/16-12/31 with no points. I realize how lucky he is.
