Looking for info. Finally cashing in points. My buddy and I are planning to hunt the entire month of September. We have archery hunted elk in Colorado for 27 years, But never been to this area before. Coming out the end of June to scout for a week. My house is in Gunnison so I am hoping to start on the northern part of 76, but will go where ever looks to be the most promising. Not a spring chicken anymore, but can still go pretty good. Any advice, direction, or tips of any kind would be so appreciated. Really hoping for this to be an awesome hunt!
Thanks!

Is there a reason you’re staying in Gunnison? If I was hunting/scouting 76 for archery I wouldn’t be staying in Gunnison; pretty long drive to access points and then a long haul in from there, usually.

I have 16 points, nonresident.
I’m not going to drive from Gunnison every day, it’s just that I own a home there so I thought I would start my scouting the area from the north. But I’m willing to go to any part of the area. So any help is muchly appreciated!
