Just an update on the Atom LT hoody - I picked one of the LEAF models up on the OpticsPlanet special mentioned earlier.
It's a great jacket as others have noted, but is probably NOT a good option for bowhunting ... it has some seriously loud material lining all the way around the hem of the jacket, the opening to the pockets, as well as internally at the top of the pockets. These last panels have holes in them, to allow for cord/comms ports/cables.
These panels look like some kind of thick ripstop nylon, almost like on a heavy-duty tent. They're crinkly and noisy, and I find the jacket nearly impossible to move in quietly. I'm assuming the intention was for abrasion resistance, and can see how this would work if you're constantly putting gear in and out of the pockets, and/or running comms cables through the pocket uppers ... but for bow hunting, I think it's a non-starter. Rifle might be another story, depending on your conditions and distance.
I'm not sure if these same fabric panels are found on the civilian / mass market version of the Atom LT, and that version has hunter-friendly colors come and go, depending on the year. I'd be interested from hearing from those who have that version if it has the same issues.
All up, for me, it feels like technical overkill for an around-town jacket, is probably serviceable for rifle hunting (except in bush/close-range), and worth experimenting with a general hiking jacket.
However, as Savelinus stated earlier, I think I'll be better served by either a puffy jacket or a softshell (or even possibly the new First Lite Sawtooth), rather than the Atom.
Just offering my reflections in case that helps anyone!
