Archery Terms You Hate

"tune" as a noun; do I need a new tune if I change arrows?
This is in reference to the 2023 bow models that will have a small reservoir for diesel to help your arrow gain FPS when it’s in “launch mode”.
At least the manufacturers know that the diesel in the current market is crap and will require a tune in order to operate properly.

I’m ordering an XL sleeping bag before this upcoming season so I can sleep with my bow between my legs to keep the diesel from turning to gel.

Does that apply to my gear review of my new hunting nylons?
In my opinion it should be applied to all gear outside of running shoes. If your tights were purchased specifically for the purpose of running the moderators could make and exception, but I am guessing you are most likely a Tool Shed and should be labeled as such.

I totally rushed my joke, and f'd it up. I was going for the joke about getting runs in nylons.

I’m going to be running a ‘insert arrow name’. What spine do I need for 28% FOC with a COC. Ill be shooting 76# with a 25” draw. I’ll need to tune my form and bow in order to get my FP’s to hit with broadheads out to 111 yards. Though my effective range is 30 yard if I want a for sure pump house double lung booya smoked him ethnical organic harvest. Should I run a slider or fixed pin? How long should I wait to let him expire if I only found poop on my arrow?

Just a random compilation of jargon I see in the archery world.

Horizontal or vertical for sleep straddle?

Better make sure you check your tune and peep rotation with the added heat and humidity.

You forgot "help me build the perfect elk arrow, im not sure what weight i should be at. Is 600 grains enough to blow through a shoulder?"

Yup, “arrow build” and “arrow system” are the terms that rile me up. Taking an arrow shaft and then gluing/screwing stuff to it is not building anything. Nor does it become a “system” when finished. Not even if you dare to use manufacturer A’s insert with manufacturer B’s shafts. Still not building a system. Sorry.

“Stretch” is another one only because it is used incorrectly 95% of the time. The correct word for what most are describing is “creep”. Stretch is temporary elongation, creep is permanent.

I am a little disappointed you didn’t weave “dirt nap” in there.

I’m all for people saying my arrow gave that elk a Stone Cold Stunner.
