Looking for recommendations on gloves to wear at the end of archery season that allow dexterity for shooting a bow. I run "work gloves" (CLC camo) when it is warmer but when the last two weeks of the season hit I wear wool glove-mitts which I can't shoot with. I had looked at some Sitka and Krpytek gloves, some reviews say not warm, some say glorfied work gloves... Looking for firsthand (pun intended) experience with any gloves that might fit the bill.

Call me crazy but here's what I did. Took an old pair of insulated gloves and cut off the thumb and first finger. Still get some warmth from my liner glove.

This has been the question since the beginning of time ;)

But seriously, I haven't tried them yet but I'm going to buy some of the FL Scree's when they go on clearance.

Rag wool gloves work fine for me, I'm just looking for something slightly more weatherproof. I used the fingerless FL merino gloves on my Elk hunt last year with liners under them. Worked well also but finger tips were a little chilly and same weatherproof problem..

I am a big fan of ragg wool gloves and I add a muff for treestand hunting or extreme cold. Have yet to find anything warmer/waterproof that maintains any semblance of dexterity.

I've had great luck with the FL Talus Fingerless Glove. Merino Wool and I really don't take them off except to put contacts in... If that's not warm enough, I just toss some Kuiu Tiburon or Guide gloves on top. One of my hunting buddies really likes the Mechanix gloves - even found them in multicam.

I just got some Sitka fanatic gloves. Finger and thumb are bare, fairly thin, and have a nice long wrist on them.

For really cold I just use a muff. I can't shoot in heavy gloves. Most of my cold weather hunting is in a treestand though.

I won't consider mitts for hunting ever again, archery or gun. Missed a quick oppritunity on a good buck cause I tried to pull the trigger with the mitt, as it happened so fast I didn't have time to think of flipping them. Never again

It's like a broken record in here. I have to add to it. I have used the same pair of wool fingerless Filson gloves for about 12 years or so. Then I stick my hands in my pockets with a hand warmer. I just bought a pair of the fanatic gloves to try out. In fact I am going to take them on my moose hunt next week

I played around last winter. Wound up with a hand warmer and a OR softshell glove on my left and bare hand on the right. Still hunting or stand sitting. Left hand held the bow and right spent a lot of time in the hand warmer.

I found a pair of under armor ones that I really like. I prefer them over my kuiu and Sitka ones. Normally not an UA guy but they are pretty sweet!

I use FL talus gloves and when I'm sitting for long periods I use this, it works like a charm and it's so warm I don't need hot hands. Cabela's Online Store - Quality Hunting, Fishing, Camping and Outdoor Gear

Same here, but I have the synthetic one as I got it on sale a few years back. I also have an older version of this for day hunting when I can recharge it: Amazon.com : EnergyFlux Ellipse 5200mAh Rechargeable Wrap-around Hand Warmer / USB External Battery Pack - Silver/White : Camping Hand Warmers : Sports & Outdoors It's nice for when your hands are too far gone.

My hands freeze pretty badly so I have gone to liner gloves, wool mitts, and a handwarmer. The mitts are for walking in and carrying things, and when I'm sitting I take them off and shove my hands in the handwarmer. Works for me.

I have two pair of the manzella gloves, warm and warmer, but they get soaked and my hands are wet all day and I'm tired of it. Wish they were water proof. Going to try some sealskinz gloves. Rain , snow, and sleet and December elk hunting in coastal WA when it's 34°F with constantly wet hands is not fun. I suppose I could wear surgical gloves under the manzella ones. Don't want or need heavy insulation.

I just take off my glove. I can survive for a couple of minutes without a glove. If I don't shoot, I put my glove back on.

I've been using Kuiu Peloton 200 or the 210 merino glove. If it's too cold for those gloves, I keep my release hand in a mitten until it's time to draw.

i wear some thin spandex like gloves. they have these tiny silicon balls on the palm for some grip. i think i actually shoot better with the gloves because they slip and eliminate any torque i have. they keep me warm some..not much, but takes me out of the discomfort zone. if i get cold i just stuff them into a crouch or armpit..sometimes even my own. :D

I have used the first lite merino gloves for a couple seasons . I like them alot BUT they are pretty thin making them not too durable . I only hunt in Aug and Sept so its usually from 40-70 degrees while I'm actively hunting and they work fine. I really like the feel / dexterity and can do anything with them on that I can do without. Anything below around 40 I would NOT use this glove.
