What's everyone's favorite sleep system during archery elk.

Base camp for me is a 14x16 wall tent from Davis and back packing in is a mix of a bivy and tarp or Seek outside LBO based on weather expected. Rocking a VIAM quilt at the moment but changing that in the near future.

Do you guys always prefer quilts over sleeping bag?

100%. Lighter weight, more comfortable, no issues with draft if you use a good pad attachment system. I personally see no downsides with a quilt.

My own queen sized bed… but I live less than an hour from my favorite trailhead.

But for backpacking I’ve liked my Kifaru Quilt and big Agnes Q core deluxe pad over a tyvek ground cover all under my Kifaru paratarp or Tut tipi.

Kifaru Sawtooth with liners and bug netting, 18" titanium cylinder stove, ExPed 8R wide pad with foam for protection, Black Ovis 20 or 0 degree bag. Having a way to dry your clothes (gloves/socks) is huge!!

Big Agnes Copper Spur UL2, Thermarest Neoair Large, Enlightened Equipment Enigma Quilt 10 degree, Trekology Aluft Pillow with Strap.

This system works great for me. I can lay my Exo 3500 pack next to me with my bow on top. We had mice crawling around us on one of our hunts so I don’t want to chance damage to my pack or bow.

I’m a side sleeper / roller, so the quilt was an improvement for me over a mummy bag.

What temperatures do you typically expect? Hopefully headed to CO for my first time, and am in need of good info for sleep systems as well.

If you're in some kind of shelter to break the wind it's worth the weight savings. I have slept under the stars without a bivy or shelter in the quilt on a pad, and woke up on my side with a little draft.
