Has anyone installed one of these on their Accura/Optima? details?

I have an Accura MRX. I'm wanting options for a better rest in the field than just a trigger stik. I figure with this I can clamp into tripod as well as try out some bipods.
Or should/could I do seperate plates and put the arca further back for better balance?

This is for the wife/kids backpack hunting the opensight deer and elk seasons, so trying to keep weight down over something like the deathgrip tripod.

I haven't installed one on a CVA but have one on a Rem700. The CVA that I shot last year had double sling studs on the forestock - It seems like this would make it really easy to install a short plate.

I haven't either, but it should be a fairly straightforward install with how flat the forend is on my Accura. You would want to check clearances on the backside for the ramrod, but I would think you could drill out material for a T-nut and use proper length screws to avoid any interference.

The Optima doesn't have a good flat spot to mount the plate. My buddy had to revert back to his Death Grip intead of the ARCA attachment for his Optima.

I put that exact rail on my MR-X. Works awesome.
Nice! any details on mounting?
How are you using and how's the balance? The one in the pic I posted seems more up front and better for bipods, but I'll probably use it mostly on a tripod so I'm thinking of mounting further back, but then maybe bipods won't work as well, I don't know....

Mounting was easy. I just unscrewed the two swivel studs and used the included mounting hardware with the SRS rail (so the rail is mounted up front). I have never used the pic portion of the rail for a bipod but instead use the arca portion for a tripod. I don't recall the details on balance, but it wasn't bad given how heavy the barrel is on the muzzleloader.

Actually, thinking harder about the install, I believe I had to use one of my own screws for installation because if I recall correctly, one of the swivel studs is more of a "wood screw" and one is a "nut/bolt" design.

These are an interesting idea, and one that I've considered myself...but FOR ME, I'd rather (and I have) just upgrade the bipod to run Arca and use one Arca rail on the rifle.

I just put a 12" universal on my CF Manners last night. Bipod slides on the front, and can be slid to anywhere along the hand gaurd...AND the rifle can clamp onto my tripod, also at any point along the hand guard.

It's far more flexible than that type of dual design.

sounds good, I think I'm going to try it out.
