Some are already banning contributions to Reps or Senators who had the audacity to question the election results.

That will piss people off so bad the checks will start rolling in. We are in a time of push a little get a lot of pushback.

First, remember we're all on the same side here, so keep it civil. I'll pull the thread if it turns into a fighting mess. Important to get the info out to you though, so I'll take the risk (someone hit me if it's up already somewhere else on RS and I'll pull this one.)

This kind of fall out (to Parler) makes me sketchy nervous:

Can't wait to vote in the 2022 elections!
Is Rokslide's registrar and hosting a supporter of the first ammendment? Or will we get 404 error one of these days?

I belong to a few gunboards and have spent some time on AR15, not my favorite site by far but pulling the plug on them is some bullshit gestapo shit. I don’t condone censoring anyone period, it goes against everything this country was founded on. Very few countries around the world have true freedom of speech. It’s saddening that there are people on board with the shit that is going on right now. The only consolation is that history has shown over and over that those people will eventually get their own censorship as well.

We live in crazy times. The big tech companies that just colluded to try and destroy Parler (Twitter, Facebook, Amazon, Apple and Google) are evil. They want to have all the protections of section 230 but then want to be able to silence speech they do not agree with. They can have one or the other, but not both.
If you agree with what they are doing now, then you are brain dead and do not realize that you will be the next one in their crosshairs.

I think everyone needs to read 1984 again. We are now living it.

I think this is all a slippery slope but how we play along. As of now a private company has the right to refuse service so long as it's not based on race, gender, or religion, I think. So like it or not a private hosting company can pick and choose who they host.

Just remember everything works both ways. It's how RS can get rid of those around here, they may claim censorship, but it's the right of the owner.

I believe the owners should have that right. We have the right as consumers not to use their service.
I agree with you on a property owner's rights. Robby can ban a member for pretty much any reason, and a shop owner can choose to forbid me from shopping with a concealed firearm. I support their rights, even if they are not my views. As was stated in another post, however, there are limits to those private property rights.

There was an interesting article yesterday in the WSJ about big tech, 230 and when a private company can be deemed to be acting as a state actor, and therefore their "private action" instead treated as state action.

The main thing is DO NOT BACK DOWN, DO NOT BE SILENCED
DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED.

110% agree, I have made many enemies in my local community because I refuse to backdown or pander to these leftist people. It really is time to make sure that every possible way to communicate is shared with like minded people in your circles. It sure looks like Divide and conquer 101 is taking place , I truly believe that quick action should be taken before the new administration runs rampant, we are their #1 enemy.

Depends on what your interpretation of the 1st Amendment is. Seems like some of the people here need to brush up on the amendment and subsequent court rulings. Just to refresh, any speech that is used to incite actions that would produce imminent lawless action and/or harm to others is not covered under the 1st Amendment, nor are threats to kill someone, (including the Vice President). If posters start calling for violence or threating to kill the V, Nancy or anyone for that matter, I would assume that the risk for shutting down hosting would increase. And rightfully so.

It appears that a company called Cloudflare hosts and/or provides other services to Rokslide. Ironically Cloudlare is no stranger to similar issues as it was was presented with a very similar situation in 2019 and decided to take action. I have attached part of their response and a link to the full article. In essence they decided to terminate hosting services to several particularly reprehensible sites they used to host and provided some direction and explanation for their decision. I think its worth the read.

From the link below:

From Cloudflare: Many of our customers run platforms of their own on top of our network. If our policies are more conservative than theirs it effectively undercuts their ability to run their services and set their own policies. We reluctantly tolerate content that we find reprehensible, but we draw the line at platforms that have demonstrated they directly inspire tragic events and are lawless by design. 8chan has crossed that line. It will therefore no longer be allowed to use our services.

I'm confused....do we want to repeal Section 230 so that platforms can be held criminally liable for content they host, or do we want a free for all? Seems like cherry picking here....
Toi late to repeal 230. Doing that would crush new startups. Suing is what should be done. Probably have to be a class action deal. Then who could take that on becomes another question. Then how do you organize it. Multitudes more questions.

New book coming out called woke inc. Be a light shedding read. Just listened to a interview with author on joe pags radio show.

Ha. AR15.com didn't go away because they talk about the 'bad gunz.' It's because they became an echo chamber for the type of far right rhetoric that fomented last weeks events.

Rokslide looks to be trending that way based on the last few days here.....
In case you thought these bans were because of violence
Ayatollah Khamenei who is the head of the BIGGEST TERRORIST ORGANIZATION on earth and has been chanting Death to America and Death to Israel for 40 years,,, who is responsible for the death of MILLIONS of Iranians and Thousands of Americans and Israeli and other soldiers still has a Twitter and Facebook account...... Same with the Leader of HAMAS and the head of the Yemeni Terrorist Group and many others......

But the President of the United States of America and those (American or not) who want justice and speak against a certain party or person(s) have been banned....
Let that sink in.......

Except they aren't private clubs. They are publicly traded organizations. They are public entities.

I think this is good for us in long run. Think its going to wake up the middle of road folks on both sides. Which are the ones with all the real power. Time for some OG's to lay a smack down on these pups....lol...

For awhile now there's been a coalition forming. This coalition is made up of right, left, green. Lots of politicians don't like whats going on and speaking up about it. Tulsi gabbard Democrat. Dan Crenshaw republican. Theres a bunch more.

Johnny Cash says it best. Whats done in the dark will be brought to the light. Trump brought it to light. Now these up and comers combined with middle of road og. They gonna straighten it out, with our help.

We just need someone to organize us. Who that is......remains to be seen
