AR Triggers. Drop in or Not?

Ordered a LaRue MBT-2S months ago and it just got pushed back another month so I’m over it. What is a good option that’s in the 100-150$ area? Not wanting to drop 230$ on a Geissele that much. Tons of drop in options but I worry about dust and moisture getting in.

Hey brother, I'm sending you a DM

Geissele, Larue, and LMT Two-stage triggers are by far the most reliable options. Cassette style triggers are by far the least reliable.

Depends on use case. Is this an AR set up for Pdogs and yotes or go get in a fight AR? For hunting I prefer TT, but for getting personal I have a Larue.

I use the Rock River Arms 2 stage National Match trigger in mine.

Cassette style triggers are generally considered to be less reliable, as has been noted already.

The flat faced cmc’s are awesome. If you find them on a good sale, they are well worth the money.

I have one in every single one of my ar’s.

Thanks. I’ll look into the recommended non cassette styles. My rifles get caked in dust and are not generally treated nicely. Worrying about pins walking out and ice isn’t what I want. I don’t do cool guy go fast shoot fast stuff but I do like when they go bang and can take harsh conditions.

The Timney Impact is OK and will be at 3.5 pounds. I have one and it has not failed in any way. I have several TriggerTech Duty in just normal AR builds. They also have had no issues. My long range ones have TT adjustable and they are sweet. I prefer a single stage triggers and all of the ones I listed above are.

There are plenty of good triggers out there. About the only one I see a lot but have never used is Rise Armament.

Can someone explain what a cassette trigger is compared to other options?

The MBT-2S is 100% worth the wait, but it does suck that they are hard to get.

I have a CMC cassette in a 18 DMR style AR and haven't had any issues. But it doesnt see hard use and is not a home defense/SHTF gun. In a rifle you need to trust and/or will get used and dirty, MBT-2S can't be beat IMO.
