A 3rd option to consider, Hawkins Precision is now a sponsor/vendor on here.

I have no affiliation with them, but based on my experiences with them, a repeat customer for sure.

I originally looked at Hawkins, and love their products (I have several sets of their rings), but being a hunting rifle, I like the idea of a flush fit bottom metal.

I have their obendorf style BDL on a bolt gun, with a wyatt's extended...but you did say DBM.

Which would you use for a lightweight custom rifle, and why?

APA RTG is all I use. Great stuff. Wait until their a sale this spring/summer, or they run 20 or 25% off during their Black Friday sale. I buy a couple every November just for future builds!

They also now make the RTG in XM length.

Yes using a DBM, because this is planned to be a switch barrel rifle, and it’s easier to change mags, vs internal boxes.
