Anyone shooting 108 in a 243 win tikka?

Planning on trying the 108s out this weekend. Bought a 1:8 takeoff from j&a, hopefully gonna get it screwed on tomorrow night.

Just picked up a tikka 243 1-8.

Shot well with both 103 Eldx and 108 Eld with h4350 and RL16.

10 shot groups at 41.1 grains 2804fps with 108’s and 41.0 grains 2884fps with 103’s both with H4350

Factory 22” barrel groups were right around 1.1 -1.2 moa 10 shot

Looks like they will group all right out of my rifle. Older t3 with a 20 inch factory take off from j&a. That’s shots 5-14 out of the new barrel. H4350 powder.

This was 41.1 h4350 with 108 Eld-m @ 100 yards.

I'd guess you'll end up at that pretty comfortably. I'm at 3050 in a .243AI with 19" barrel. My Tikka factory .243 chamber was throated such that 108 ELDMs were not buried in the case, just grab M+ mags to seat out to the 2.85 (IIRC) that it will support in factory form (or just load at 2.80 and use factory mag)
Where do you get the M+ magazines?

Shooting the 108s out of a tikka. 18 inch barrel around 2760. Only have a little over 100 rounds down the barrel. I am hoping it will speed up a little with break in.

I also load them to 2.727. When seated out longer, in my rifle they seemed to open up a bit. This is only a 3 shot group so probably not a great representation. But it shoots great. Bought the takeoff barrel from JA and am very happy with it. IMG_0529.jpeg

I don't know based off of your COL but is this bullet seated pretty deep to get it to fit? I guess what I'm driving at "Is anything left on the table vs the 6mm creed with the Tikka 1:8?".

Buying factory 108 Eldm ammo for the 6mm creed is the only benefit I see!

I built a load with the 108’s and shooters world long rifle. It shoots fantastic, and only produces 2,560fps out of my 16.5” barrel.

I’ve got a h4350 load built for testing to see if I can get more speed, but if the accuracy falls apart, I’ll stick with the original. Likely will never shoot over 300y.

You can def push that way harder. 41.5 and 42 grains has yielded the same level of accuracy but at 2860 out of an 18” 1:8 tikka

It is passed the shoulder of the case a bit and into the body. I'm a bit new to reloading. It doesn't appear to be a major downside as long as it shoots well. Is it as simple as that?
It really is from what I’ve experienced! Best $725 I’ve spent in a long time!
