Anyone seen this “Tink” 5.56 77TMK ammo?

Not yet. Waiting on some parts to run it through some other rifles to get speeds.

Here’s another data point for everyone. This is out of a new factory threaded 20” stainless Tikka 223 rifle.
Bolt lift was noticeably harder than the Frontier loads. I’ve been in contact with Phantom since I’ve only been seeing very marginal gains over the factory loaded frontier in my rifles.

Considering I’m getting 2750 out of an 18”tikka with Black Hills 77 TMK, that isn’t really that significant.

And if what you have is working for you and shoots as accurately as you want I wouldn’t go changing things up. It really doesn’t extend your effective range by a significant amount.

That’s disappointing, I emailed phantom defense asking what velocity they would expect to see out of a 20” barrel with this ammo and they came back with roughly 2980 fps.

Agreed. I saw another interesting option but this is the 73 eldm loaded into the nas3 cases, 3040fps out of a 18” barrel according to the website.

Hopefully we see better results in the future with the phantom ammo. I will buy and test some when they are back in stock

When I need 3000+ from a 77 tmk, I grab my 22-250. Problem solved.

Interesting that they said that. They told me with the powder they use they wouldn’t expect as much gain with longer than 18” barrels. I am waiting on one more 16” AR barrel to come in to test maybe 10 more rounds though and then I’m probably going to take phantom up on their offer and send their ammo back so they can test and see if something is truly wrong with the batch I got outa the lot.

I should add, since I didn’t in either of my first two posts in this thread, that after I contacted Phantom with my concerns over seeing extra slow speeds vs their claimed speeds. They did test 90rnds from the lot I got that they had on hand out of a 18” Criterion AR barrel and averaged 2868fps where I was only seeing 2699fps out of a 16” LMT barrel. Claimed speeds online is 2900fps outa an 18” barrel and the box I got said 2930fps. I’m barely hitting their 18” actual velocities in my 20” Tikka bolt gun. They are at a higher elevation than me but that shouldn’t make a roughly 50-100fps difference we’re seeing from what we’d expect to see with my barrel lengths.

I run the Phantom Tink out of 20" Proof barreled gasgun and get a very consistent 2915 fps out of it. It has been a very accurate load for me.

I tested the Tink ammo in another 16” ar barrel and it was within 20fps of the first 16” barrel I tested it in. So finally taking up Phantom on their offer and my 100 rounds I purchased are on their way back to them to see if I got a bad batch outa the lot or what is up.
