Anyone running fixed power scopes?

What’s your expected engagement distance? 6.5 creed is easy, plentiful and in stock form. 6 creed or 22 creed are great - but not readily available in a tikka without the extra steps.

For southern white tail I’m using a 223. Out west I’m using a 22 creed.

I have a Tikka .243 shooting 80gr TTSX for deer that is a laser. It’s a bit light for elk, but might could find some factory loaded nosler partitions.

6 Creed sounds great and I need to read up on it.

Also shoot Black Hills with TTSX and SMKs in .223, and have a 6.5 Grendel for deer/hogs.

Depending on your twist you could buy ammo from Copper creek to shoot heavier bullets. Or shoot 95 grain nosler ballistic tip (winchesfer sells factory version). Not as good as the newer 6mm line but kills under 500. 6 creed just has better twist to shoot longer bullets.

Running Kahles 4x36, 7x50 & Swaro 6x36 on my 22 RFs and Swaro 6x42s on a 243 and 6.5x55. Plenty good for hunting in the northeastern part of the country. I don't need to move the dials, just work off the reticle subtensions.

Love the S&B fixed power scopes. Just sent a 6x42 klassik to get the BDC dial for a whitetail rifle. A7 reticle.

Favorite fixed power for western hunting (Wyoming) is my PMII 10x42 with P3 reticle. Shot a bull at 400 with it, worked great.

Can you get the BDC dial and the P3 reticle put into the Klassic?

I’m going to send my Ruger .270 with zytel stock off for threading and planning to upgrade my 8x56 Klassic to pair with it. But I’m not sure how that heavy scope will affect the lateral balance of that lightweight rifle. 56mm objective and 30mm tube will have to mount high.

I know you can get the BDC dial but IDK about the p3 reticle. I would send mine in right away if I could get a mil reticle. The fixed power pmii would check all the boxes for me if I could find one for sale lol.

Yes.
BDC dial will run you around $300 with shipping etc.
Changing out the reticle is around $700 IIRC.

Been using a swfa 6x for a while and like it don’t really need a variable. Also look at the 6mm thread. The 95 sst and 95 ballistic tip would be great on elk in a 243.
