Anyone notice changes with Colorado's reissue list this fall?

So i am a frequent visitor to the CPW Reissue list every week and every week pretty much have the same method of trying to get a tag. I have gotten a few tags over the years but id say 1 out of every 3 weeks i at least make it to the add to cart page before i get my dreams crushed. This year has been different... I have not made it to the cart page once. Is anyone else noticing a difference? Maybe I'm just getting slow.

CO has a new anti-bot/script process that just went into effect today. It'll probably be a little wonky the first time through even if you're doing it the human way. If you're trying to game the website, that's probably why you're having problems.

Gaming in the technologically inept type of way. Do I start clicking 10 seconds prior and don’t stop until 10 after? Do I click at 11 on the dot? How about 11:01?

I think your best bet is to make friends with one of the people at CPW who have the ability to omit a code from the list so nobody else tries to get it...

More people talking about it on the internet, starting new threads, sharing methods, sharing their buddies methods of getting tags, etc. This is the reason, not the bots.

I disagree. The fact that CPW took time and effort to change their system in order to combat bots tells me that it has become pretty prevalent. If it wasn't a big problem why would they address it?

I agree, its not just people sharing methods, there has to be something different that has allowed this to happen all of a sudden this year.

What is this new anti-bot/ Script thing? i don't use either method but it seems odd to me that they made this process if it wasn't a huge issue this year.

Two of the last three weeks, they updated the list at 10:55 to show that the tag I wanted was gone.

WTF

It's supposed to drop as close to 11:00am as possible...

They are basically just screening whether a user is moving through the steps faster than a human could reasonably do it. It sounds like it is just stopping you from having the hunt code typed in as 11:00 approaches and repeatedly clicking as fast as you can until the license gets added to your cart. From CPW:

To combat the use of autoclicking software, a delay has been implemented for users who attempt to confirm their choices repeatedly within a very short timeframe. Please be aware of this change when trying to purchase licenses from the reissue or leftover licenses list. The system also uses reCAPTCHA to prevent bots from purchasing licenses.

The problem is that these bots, scripts, and programs are extremely advanced and pretty much any website doing sales on a timed-release (items available for purchase at a predetermined date and time) is vulnerable to selling to them rather than a person sitting at their computer. It is a constant leap-frog because each time a new method is implemented to block them, a new method is created to bypass the safeguards.

I've had the exact opposite experience this year. I've tried religiously in years past to get tags and this year has been the first year I've been successful and some other acquaintances have experienced the same. I do feel like they are trying different processes whether its anti-bot software or the like...

If someone will cheat to get a tag, I can only imagine what steps/lengths they will go to in order to fill that tag.......and they call themselves 'sportsmen'. SMH
