Here’s some of my main “deer rifles” I’m setting up for 3 styles of hunting.
** this is an old picture, same rifles but the scopes have been moved around**

1. Run & Gun- Compact, Lightweight, Nimble mainly for 0-150 yard shots. CVA Scout in 6.5 with a 3-9 SWFA
2. “Long Range” - 100-600 yards for Power/Gas lines, Clear Cuts, AG Fields etc.. R700 .243 at 16.5” barrel with a 5-20x50 SWFA
3. Doe Patrol - Built mainly to hunt Box/Tripod stands over feeders, fields, cutovers etc and built for engaging multiple deer at once - Built AR15 18” with a 3-15 SWFA

Located in GA and mainly hunt planted pines, cutovers, Power/Gas Line ROW’s, AG Fields & food plots. The “average” shot in the woods is around 50 yards, anything else can be 0-600 yards.

I’m debating on selling the CVA Scout in 6.5 and grabbing a CVA Scout in .350L and putting a 2.5-10x56 scope on it…
Reason being- It’s a close range setup to begin with and allows me the opportunity to hunt straight wall caliber States with this platform.

Thoughts? Critiques?

If you want a light single shot and also want to hunt the straight wall states then yeah why not?
