Sometimes... if you're taking an ambush sit over a close-quarters opened-up meadow area smack in the middle of a large area of chapparal. A place where the shorter barrel and a low-power optic for quick-aiming is optimal. Usually when you luckout and find an area with a line of Oaks thru it. Usually they're (The Oaks) along lines/places that become water lines briefly for a little bit when it rains.
Or when you know the path you're going to hike-up thru will get very tight and constrictive at some points. Especially when you know it's following along a path bears come thru, like when you see those wide indentations on the downhill side of fallen logs that lay across a trail over softer soil with decomposed leaf matter in it a bit, that meanders on down to water, or good shade with cool breeze eventually.
