Anyone else think this is a really bad idea?

Tracking devices left behind by the broadheads...

Our hunting camp has always joked around about this but now that someone made it I would hate to see states allow the use!

I put it in the same camp as droids. No place for it in the woods!

I know a lot of states won't, with that barb/hook thing on there. Most states have laws against barbed broadheads and they're often described as "any forward facing point" or something to that effect.

It has been around in one form or another for quite a while. $700 is way more than most people will spend on something like this. Despite their claims I wonder how this thing will affect arrow flight, FOC anyone?, how heavy is it?, etc, etc, etc.
A bad idea that is not catching on anytime if history is any indicator.

...let me guess: "It flies exactly like your field points"...

I agree, bad idea. I think it would lead to a lot of "just shoot it, we can track it and get a good one in it later" BS.

I'm glad it's not caught/catching on.

This technology can be bad news in other ways too. With a few modification it could be downsized and become a tracking device for live game animals. In other words someone could pop one in a trophy animal and keep track of it until opening day.

The idea itself has some merit...but the way that thing is designed it inhibits penetration- thats no good. You could end up with animals that would have died shortly from a pass through ...but now are on the run wounded.

Agreed.
