Just wondering if anyone has built a 220 Swift with fast twist barrel and heavy bullets (75-90gr)... I've shot and have a few in the swift chambering and have several rounds of brass and just wondered if this could/would compare to the other hot 224s that are catching on? Thanks in advance for any feedback..

I have a slow twist Swift in a Winchester Hvy varmint and a fast twist 22 Creedmoor. The Creed case holds about 3 gr. more H2O than the Swift. You could also go with a 220 Swift ackley imp. to get a little more capacity. I love my Swift but the there is a lot better brass avail. for the 22 Creed.

I think if I'm hearing you correctly you're saying that if I'm considering rebarreling to get a faster twist I may as well as go ahead and rechamber to the 22cm to take advantage of newer brass.. I guess I could consider that and keep at least one swift for lighter bullets and use the swift brass I have in it..

I've got a 220 swift AI.
40 grain bullets are around 4600
53 grain bullets are around 4200
70 grain bullets are around 3600
75 grain bullets are around 3500.

Other than having to fire form the brass i love the round. I'm getting about 7 reloads on my brass before the printer pockets won't hold a primer anymore.

My first barrel start out as a swift for about 1000-1200 rounds. Got an itch for more speed so i had it rechambered for AI. i got about another 500 rounds on it before i ordered a new barrel. It was getting really hard to clean but it was still shooting good, but it was about done.
