Well, cutting them down is more common than I expected. I think I’ll start at 20” and see how it handles and shoots. I can alway go another inch or two later. Thanks for all the input.
Anyone go shorter than 18"? I have Montana in .308 Win and I was thinking about going to 16.5" and putting a suppressor on it. Not too concerned about velocity. That gun is so dang light, I really don't shoot it that well past 300 yards anyway.
Strongly recommend a 16.5" 308 MA/montana. Favorite rifle i've ever owned by a country mile. getting 2500FPS with the can and federal 175gr terminal ascents. 7 pounds scoped, loaded and suppressed.
