Anyone ever built a lightweight 270 wsm for chasing sheep?

Would appreciate build pics and ideas

I built one off a tikka action I wouldn’t say it’s super light weight but not heavy either. Manner ehTA stock, benchmark #4 fluted barrel 26”, zeiss V4 4-16 scope I will try and post a picture later I’m shooting the 126 hammer hunter at 3450 fps and have killed deer and elk out to 450yards one shot also have a load for the 165gr matrix vld at 3000 fps and we took a nice Rocky Mountain big horn with that at 704.

What’s the final weight on that with optics ?

I built one but it's not light. It's around 9.5-10 lbs I think. I shoot a 170 Berger with it and have killed elk and deer in the 750 yard range and closer. I have shot steel with it to better than double that range.

My mule has never complained when he has to pack me and my gun up the mountain. When I go on foot I usually take a different lighter gun.

Did y’all build off of medium actions?

Had one on sako a7 stainless short action. Pillar bedded. Brake and thread protector. Talleys and Leupold mark 4 4.5-14x40 (30mm side focus). All up was around 7 1/4. She was a little rude without the brake on the range. Shot well to 930 yards with factory federal 140 accubonds, 5 shots sub-moa. Awesome mountain rig. Have my longest coyote with it at 620.

Tikka 270 wsm with bell and Carlson stock. Mountain tactical bottom metal and vx5hd. 8lbs on the dot. Killed elk out to 550 shooting 150 gr fusions.

Not a .270WSM but I did build a 300WSM for mixed bag sheep hunting on a M70 Classic factory barreled action. Used a Bansner stock and a couple lightweight components and had it down to 7.25# with a 3.5-10x40 Leupold VX-3 B&C
