I’ve never bedded any rifle, let alone a MZ. But as I re-assembled my Knight mountaineer last night I thought: with its rough wood inlet and one lonely action screw, surely it could benefit from bedding?
Anybody done it? Any appreciable improvement to consistency? Probably just a silly rabbit hole that doesn’t need to be gone down but I’m curious.

Just did my first ever bedding job, and it happened to be on a muzzleloader. I will be doing more

Yes, absolutely. The more recoil a rifle has the more it will benefit from tight and precise bedding, both in short-term accuracy and long term durability. That puts muzzleloaders right in the target population for bedding despite being "short range" rifles.

Thanks all, you have inspired me to take the plunge. I am both terrified and excited for the results. Guides/write ups regarding muzzles seem to be few and far between. Will post results
