Anybody use a bugle tube to call moose?

I'm going by myself on my first moose hunt the first week of September and I'm over here all pumped watchin these love thunder & bull dvds. I've been reading in here some guys love that megaphone and some hate it. Then there's the oil jug, detergent jug etc option. What would be wrong with a bugle tube? They seem like they'd be good for beatin brush too. Way more sturdy than a plastic jug.

screw all the gadgets for moose hunting early september. Break sticks and bang on logs, no vocals. if they are around they will come eventually, usually.

I’m hunting my first time this year as well on a float trip. I’ll be bush whacking and limb breaking for the first few days starting sep 5. Probably won’t let out a cow call until 9th or 10th at the earliest. Just depends on what I’m seeing/hearing and activity in the area.

Bugle tube mouth end is too narrow. Think megaphone vs trumpet. You're not using a reed when calling moose so you need something to simply project your voice.
