Ford, Chevy, Dodge.................................................... We have had most major brands. Good luck with some, not so good with others. Samsung washer and dryer, Dryer was good, a lot of problems with the washer. Replaced with Maytag and never again. Tons of problems with the washer, I was fixing it 2-3 times a year, after 2 control boards I could have replaced it for what I spent on parts. Replaced that with an LG and zero issues with that after 3 years, there are 6 in my house, 4 teenage boys. The washer and dryer run pretty much non stop. I like the LG. On the washer you choose, make sure it has an easily accessible filter. The maytag you had to pull the entire front of the washer off to clean the filter. It was a 2 hour project for something that needs done frequently and should take 45 seconds.
Fridge, been through 2 of those and am buying a third tomorrow. Kenmore the icemaker and water dispenser quit working after 3 years, I just replaced it an put it in the basement. We needed a bigger one anyway. It i,s still cooling fine, 13 years old. Whirlpool, 10 years old, quit cooling 2 weeks ago, $1700 to repair. Will replace with another Whirlpool. It should still work but the features we want are all covered in the Whirlpool.
Kenmore stove gas stove, 15 years old, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It has control board issues and the oven doesn't always work. If you turn it off it has always worked correctly when you turn it back on. I'll just replace it when it quits.
Dishwasher have had Kenmore, whirlpool and Bosch. The bosch has been the best hands down. The other two lasted about 3 years. This one is going on 9.
Microwave, don't spend much. Went through 2 of those, Kenmore, Whirlpool. Bought a cheap one at Menards that matches color and it has been the best by far.
Appliances are not built like they used to be, they wear out quickly. With youtube, if you are handy, you can fix most things yourself on any of them. The question becomes do you want to put a $400 part into an aging appliance.
I've found that all of the major brands have issues. Unless you get a lemon there are common issues within each appliance. I would recommend finding a set that you like, take some time and put in the model number of each one and google problems with that model number. You will find out real quick what the issues are because once you've had an issue and start researching, everyone is having that issue. Certain parts on certain models just have problems.
My biggest recommendation is to buy local from someone that also has a service department. This is way more important than brand IMO. Getting people out to work on them is tough. If you buy from the same place that services them it is way faster, way less hassle and they generally will have parts on hand. You buy from a big box store and have a warranty issue good luck. You have to deal with the parent company, they may or may not have anyone in your area that does service for them. If they don't it is going to be an absolute nightmare. You buy from a store with a service dept. you can generally get someone in 1-2 days. You buy from Lowes it's gonna be 2 weeks, or never. The parent company has certified shops they are affiliated with, you may not have one local.
Research every model number for common problems. Buy local from a store with a service department.
