I'm working up a load for my .300 WSM and want to give the GMX a try after getting less than stellar accuracy with my usual Barnes TSX. I just called Hornady to see if they recommend letting the bullet jump to the lands like Barnes and they do not. Does anyone have experience loading the GMX? If so, any information on seating depth?

Powewr, what is your firearm?

We tried monolithics from Barnes, Hornady, and Nosler in a 300WSM in a Kimber and couldn't get any to group. Probably the gun, but specific to your question - we jamed the lands to .050 off and didn't really notice any difference. I'd try them touching, and .010 off and see what shoots better.

Thanks lcxctf2000. My rifle is a Model 70 Extreme Weather. So far, the SST's have grouped best (~0.6" @ 100 if I remember correctly) but I prefer the monolithics for hunting so that's what I've been focusing on. I have yet to get Barnes to shoot sub-MOA reliably which is different from any of my other rifles. I've shot a few antelope with factory GMX's out of my .270 so I figured they be worth a try.

I briefly tried some in my 300WBY, they shot OK. The Barnes LRX shot much better, have you tried those yet?
