Reportedly the copper rounds need 2000 fps to expand properly? But more than the ELDX’s . I watch Hornady Podcasts. Makes me an expert!

Is there a measurable variation in accuracy between ELDM and ELDX? Not so much in my experience at the 100 yard range.

Just make sure your max range is based on the bullets impact velocity. 1800fps is what Hornady states as minimum opening

ISTR Hornady recommending 2,000 FPS for the CX and 1,600 for the ELD-X. I add 200 FPS to each as my minimum.

I have found the Hornady whitetail is loaded ridiculously slow and also showed up to 100fps velocity spreads. I’m sure it would work fine for whitetail, I’m just relaying my experience of 5 boxes of it or so. I just use it for training ammo.

I just got the compact 20” barrel tikka in a 6.5 creed. A friend recommended the 140 Eldm. My 2nd 10 shot group while zeroing was .854”. I was very pleased with the results.
