Anybody Else Having Failure to Feed with Tikka mags?

I just ordered some 10-round NDR magazines for my 6.5 CM. Looking forward to them.
I borrowed one for a class last month. Mostly good, but I did experience two failures to feed (out of about 140 rounds). Bolt closed a bit too easily, reopened to find nothing in the chamber. Instructor mentioned they had seen this occasionally before.

The rest of the world has been getting the upgraded 223 magazines with the steel insert for at least 5 years

@Unknown Munitions are you guys able to order these through Sako Select? I suspect we'd have some takers here.

I forget the cost but was pretty significant for him to put springs in there. And I think he had to commit to like 2k springs.
@pods8 (Rugged Stitching) is partway down that road already.

A little filing on the mag latch fixes that.

Yeah it’s not an inexpensive order hinging on the produced spring functioning correctly. You don’t get to just order a sample first to test.

I wouldn’t say the cost per spring is significant (in quantity) but for a side project the volume used in short order versus sunk cost is definitely a factor of consideration so you’re not in the red a long time on the cash outlay.

How many of you are complaining?
Should get a list of names or something and send to tikka.
Maybe having to warranty mags or do service work of a shit ton of rifles they may do something.
Really a great gun is worthless if the mags are shit in the moment of truth.
I posted my resolve earlier in the thread, but to Tikka's credit, they informed me that they had what was determined to be faulty springs from their supplier. I don't know if this is true, or how long it's been going on.

I do know that they had paused shipment until they got it resolved (according to them) and they sent me a replacement magazine that has so far been 100%. That's not exactly coverage for my 2 others, BUT I swapped the guts from one over to an ascension mag body, and it has also been 100% so far.

I really need to shoot more to determine whether they are as reliable as they seem. And hopefully the guns moving forward will have improved magazines.
