Anybody else going the cheap arrow route?

This is how I look at it too. Additionally, I personally refuse to purchase any archery or other sporting equipment from no-name companies and shady sites like Amazon, Temu, Ali, etc because the quality can be so spotty but also because all of this stuff that gets drop shipped from China skirts past Pittman-Robertson/Dingle-Johnson Act taxes. These are the excise taxes that manufacturers of firearms, hunting equipment, and fishing equipment pay that are then distributed to all the states fish and game agencies for funding conservation and enforcement. I simply refuse to support companies that skirt past this. I saw there is a bill floating around to potentially address this and require the companies like Amazon to pay these taxes upon importation but I don't know if it's gone through yet.

I have no problems with Chinese or other inexpensive imported equipment as long the sale of it is contributing to conservation the same way things sold through established retailers are. I also have no problems if I'm buying the product through an established domestic company. Good luck getting help or a warranty arrows and other equipment you bought through Amazon. I'm fairly certain some Safari Tuff and 3 Rivers shafts are Chinese, but I have no problems trying them out since I know I'll be taken care of if I have an issue with them.

I have no idea who or who isn't paying P-R taxes, foreign or domestic and it isn't my job to police it. If we had a Congress that could agree on something as simple as a pizza order maybe they could fix it.

Now you can go ahead and call me a cheapskate all you want, but lately I have been getting a little fed up with the cost of arrows and arrow components. The old Gold Tip Warriors are now the cost of what the Gold Tip Traditionals were a few short years ago when I got into this traditional archery stuff, and now GT trads have gone up a fair bit since then. I can't seem to find very good deals on GT trad blem shafts on ebay anymore. I think the straw that broke the camels back was when I went into the local Sportsman's Warehouse yesterday and a half dozen Gold Tip traditionals had taken a steep $20 increase from $75 to $95 per half dozen. Hahaha yeah, get bent, gold tip.

Lately I have been seeing the posts from Beendare talking about how he has been buying Accmos and Link Boy arrows from amazon and that they have been working out really well for him. I also saw a YouTube video from the samko tradbow guy where he goes over his "poor boy arrow set up". I decided to take the plunge and I have a full dozen .500 spine carbon arrows fletched with 4 inch feathers for about $74 with taxes and everything headed my way. I'm excited to get them and try them out. I'll report back later once I've had a chance to zip a few downrange. If the arrows are as good as I hope they are I will probably set myself up with a pile of them in a few different spines and all the major arrow manufacturers can take their goofy prices and stuff it.
man for just a little more 25-30 bucks you can get in to Safari Tuffs. Those shafts are the strongest most abuse intolerant sticks I've ever seen

I know standard components fit the sanlida arrows. I run blazer knocks in all my standard builds and they fit perfect.

I’m really happy and impressed with the sanlida arrows. I stocked piled a few dozen when they were dirt cheap, will be good for many years.

I am not as prudent in the arrow department. I still do the most expensive route and build wood arrows. When you buy premium wood shafts and build them to fly true and look good it’s definitely not the cheapest option. Especially when you consider durability. However it’s what makes me happy.

I am glad that there are some cheaper options for guys that like the carbons. Makes getting into this passion easier especially the beginners.

I looked into trying this as well but was concerned about finding components that fit well. Can anyone chime in on this?
I've been shooting these for many years $43 (they used to be $35 a couple years ago).....33" long, .003"Straight. Consistent spine. I need them long, you can find them cheaper for about $34 if you can shoot the shorter shafts.
Shafts

The 6.2mm Inserts haven't been much of a problem to fit. Many work. I use std inserts and thick epoxy and spin them in there for an even layer which centers them pretty good. Link

Noks; Most of the ones on Ali express and Amazon are the same weak design. These are stronger, LINK

I'm thinking of going back to 5mm but instead of Axis using these cheap shafts. Is anyone using those? Links to components please.

Bruce, I’ve been shooting skylon quantics and backbones with safari tuff components. Not as cheap as some others. They’re all about the same, probably from the same factory with different labels.
I’m going the opposite direction though. Back to .244-.246. Already unloaded all my .350’s and about half of my .400’s. I have a ton of components already for .24whatevers, too many probably. The nocks you linked, throat size? Similar to gold tip gt’s ya think? Oh, the woven skylons have been tough, even .500’s, unfooted. With cut 2016’s(iirc), Safari tuff or CMI steel( money) footers they’re even more so. If I was going the other way back to .204/5mm i would probably just be buying CMI stuff.

I am still shooting Easton arrows but gave the deepower nocks a go. Day one seems fine (including bouncing an arrow off a steel pipe).

my biggest concern is the valley of the nock is a ways behind the back of the shaft though. Seems like it’d get bent eventually. For $3 each I figured I’d try them though
