A couple of things: The opening line refers to Grizzlies being in the Cascades for 20 000 years. It then states there are ten bears left. Error to you.

The map of current grizzlies in NA was inaccurate, and quickly was passed by (my area was shown as not having g-bears, and i have encountered them within 10Km of my house). Error to the video producer.

We as hunters need to be cautious when we refuse to hear discussions around ecology and ecosystem restoration and automatically go to the place of defense. Especially when it is being considered in a remote park area like the Cascades.
Potential error to us all as a community.

The balance lies in education and the ability to manage predators moving forward. Will there be impacts on game if not managed correctly? Of course. All predators should be managed (just as we are through tag allocations, bag limits, and limited entry rules).

If we stand fast and refuse to come to the table and acknowledge the role we play in the ecosystem as co-predators, the decisions will be made for us (and against us) by the majority of the population.

Will there bear/human conflicts? Of course. Another mountain biker was mauled here in BC the day before yesterday. Should the hunt be restored here in BC? Of course it should be.
And it will be.

It's a partially accurate portrait of grizzly recovery efforts. Wayne Kasworm will also tell you that management will be needed at some point. Management is hunting. He isn't a fool, and knows a balance must be struck.

Now there are stilted parts of the video and they interviewed a selected group. It's also a video by a Brit that has probably not really lived with bears.

MT FWP spent a lot of time and effort with bear education northwest MT. The re-introduction was good, and I think a positive. I have no issue with bears, and love seeing them. There is also the benefit of scaring off non-resident hunters (I'm from MT, and don't consider myself a non-resident even though I reside in Indiana).

At the end you find out that it is an anti-hunting video. Pretty hard to hide that. Bottom line, you are to be replaced by furry critters. No hunting you evil, blood thirsty, heathen. Get Woke.

Wolves, Bears, Cougars all top rank predators and for most part blindly protected.
I believe in the science of management and strongly support it, But the lone fact that there
are fewer in one area than another should not be the soul reason to start the process of
repopulating a species. If we learned anything from the coyote situation it that predators
will go to where the food is to be found natural or not.
If an area is not supporting a species why add to the problem by bring more in.
There must be scientific fact to the management not just they were here and they should continue to be here.
Just my option

The problem is that there are current areas in MT and WY where bears desperately need to be managed but most likely will not be in the next decade. Some people want an inch so they can take a mile.

Oh that makes more sense, I was wondering how they would say 20k, must of read it too fast knowing it would be a biased type of show.
