My son (22) just took a job there and has never been there, he starts in 2 weeks......so any free advice about life/rental housing/do's and don't would be appreciated.

Do check out the brew pubs, do tear up the mountain bike trails in the spring, do bring your fly rod.

Don't come without a place to live...zero vacancy rate.
Don't rely on local jobs without a specific opportunity, wages are low. Don't go into debt if in the construction field, very cyclical.

He may have to look at Redmond for a rental. Housing is very tight now. It is a great place to base from and it would be a heck of a place to be in your 20's. Lots of good people and lots of new commers to town so it is not very clicky. Fishing and hunting are OK skiing and moutain biking are great.

Have him PM me if he needs info. Also tell to bring his own job and maybe one for someone else.
